Chinese Netizens prefer portals and search engines to China social media.

Data from DCCI: During the first half year of 2011, portals remain to be the most popular choice for netizens. In the infographic we find several interesting comparisons:
1. C2C, B2C and B2B: C2C tops with 50% most-visit-rate while B2B turns out to be 7%;
2. Micro blog and Blog: the former gets 37% while the latter is only 9%;
3. Music, Video and Entertainment: it’s a bit surprising that 8% netizens prefer music sites to video sites.
Seems the cyberworld keeps changing and the marketers should catch up with the latest internet situation to optimize their marketing strategy to reach their goal.
数据来自DCCI:在2011年的上半年,门户网站仍然最受网民青睐。另外,在该图表中我们发现了一些有趣的对比:

not particularly helpful if you’re not told what the percentages mean

the percentage means how many people visit this kind of site mostly; or we can say that during H1, 2011, set portals as example, 80% of all netizens have visited protals for the most times, while only 9% of all the netizens view the blog sites mostly.

This is about frequency of usage in H1 2011 (slide 25 of the source file). It’s hardly surprising then that search engines and portals come out on top. (It wasn’t stated if this was administered through survey or actual tracking.)
So I’m not sure “prefer” is the most appropriate descriptor in your post’s title.

As to the title, maybe I should change it to “the most visited sites in China”. Sometimes you need to visite some site, but with no interests, only for work, and that’s not called “prefer”, right? ;p
As to the data source, it’s from DCCI, emm, I believe they are with authority in this area.
